Massage Therapy Program

Massage Therapy is becoming recognized as an important and respected health care discipline.  Massage therapists are employed in sports medicine, orthopedics, chronic pain management, naturopathy and chiropractic care.  They work in athletic clubs, nursing homes, salons, clinics and private practice.

The massage therapy program at High-Tech is a 74 week program leading to an Associate of Science degree.  It includes 68 weeks of classes and a six-week, unpaid, supervised clinical rotation.  The classes are modular, rather than sequential, so you can enter the program at any point and continue to take classes until you have completed all of the modules.

Students gain foundational knowledge in anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, nutrition, stress management, injury prevention and wellness.  They learn techniques of Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, sports massage, deep tissue massage, chair massage, reflexology and aromatherapy.

Students also learn the skills necessary for working as a team, communicating with patients and other health care professionals, and running a business.  They graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in various healthcare, athletic and spa settings or to begin a private practice.
