High-Tech Institute opened its doors in Phoenix in 1982, and has grown to include a total of 25 schools and an online campus. The mission of High-Tech Institute has always been to offer job-focused education, teaching students what employers want them to know and preparing them for real-world careers. They use a blended learning educational model, where coursework and hands-on skills are taught simultaneously.
One of High-Tech’s distinctions is Student Services, which provides extensive support before and after graduation to help students succeed in school and in their careers. Massage Therapy Program
Massage Therapy is becoming recognized as an important and respected health care discipline. Massage therapists are employed in sports medicine, orthopedics, chronic pain management, naturopathy and chiropractic care. They work in athletic clubs, nursing homes, salons, clinics and private practice.
The massage therapy program at High-Tech is a 74 week program leading to an Associate of Science degree. It includes 68 weeks of classes and a six-week, unpaid, supervised clinical rotation. The classes are modular, rather than sequential, so you can enter the program at any point and continue to take classes until you have completed all of the modules.
Students gain foundational knowledge in anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, nutrition, stress management, injury prevention and wellness. They learn techniques of Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, sports massage, deep tissue massage, chair massage, reflexology and aromatherapy.
Students also learn the skills necessary for working as a team, communicating with patients and other health care professionals, and running a business. They graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in various healthcare, athletic and spa settings or to begin a private practice.
Accreditation
High-Tech Institute is accredited by The Accreditation Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). It is licensed by the Nevada Commission on Post Secondary Education. The school also maintains memberships in the American Massage Therapy Association, the Career Colleges Association, and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.

The Atlanta area Campus of High-Tech Institute was established in 2001 and offers Diploma and Associate degree programs in the fields of Technology and Health Care including Massage Therapy. The campus is conveniently located in Marietta, just north of the city of Atlanta, near I-75.
Financial Aid
High-Tech Institute participates in all Federal and State financial aid programs. Students are encouraged to file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible after January 1 of the year they plan to enroll.
Students must be enrolled at High-Tech Institute before financial aid can be awarded. After meeting with an Admissions Advisor and completing an enrollment agreement, students receive a Financial Aid packet which must be completed prior to meeting with a Financial Aid Advisor.

To attend school in the Atlanta area is to be in one of the crown jewel cities of the South. Atlanta is the ninth most populous metropolitan area in the U.S. with nearly 5.5 million people. Between 2000 and 2006 the Atlanta area grew over 20%. It is no wonder that Atlanta is considered the “capital of the new South.”
Atlanta was incorporated in 1847 after it was designated as the “terminus” of a proposed rail line. The city grew rapidly once the rail lines were open and became a major supply center for the Confederacy during the Civil War. The city was burned by General Sherman as he began his infamous “March to the Sea.”
Reconstruction of Atlanta commenced at the end of the war and the city once more became a commercial center. Many colleges were founded and a hospital system was established. The city was a major center for the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 60s and was the home of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In 1996 the city hosted the Summer Olympic Games.
