About Northwestern College
Northwestern College has been part of the Chicago community for more than a hundred years. In fact, the school recently received the Illinois State Historical Society’s Centennial Award. J.F. Fish, thefounder, foresaw a need for an educational institution to prepare highly skilled, competent workers for the business community. He believed that specializing in focused education for career-oriented students would fill that need, and that vision continues to drive Northwestern College’s mission today.
Northwestern College provides exceptional support and one-on-one instruction to help post-high school students prepare for careers. It also offers flexible scheduling for students who work and have outside responsibilities. Students can attend full time or part time, and can take day, evening or weekend classes, and can change their schedules on a quarterly basis as needed.
Northwestern College readily accepts transfer credits from other educational institutions and allows students the opportunity to earn credits for life experience by taking written examinations. Students who plan to continue their education after graduation from Northwestern College find that their credits easily transfer to other colleges and universities. About the Massage Therapy Programs
Northwestern College has two massage therapy programs: a certificate program and an associate degree program. The certificate program is designed for people who want a fast track to a career. There are no general education classes; all learning is designed to prepare students for entry level employment as quickly as possible. The program requires 40 quarter credit hours, and teaches students the foundational knowledge and skills required of a massage therapist.
The Associate Degree program is a two year program leading to an Associate of Applied Science in Massage Therapy. Students learn various types of massage and adjunctive therapies, business and entrepreneurial skills and take general education classes. After graduation, students can find employment in many settings, continue their education or begin a business of their own.

Northwestern College is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is approved by the Board of Higher Education of the State of Illinois.
Financial Aid
90% of the students at Northwestern College receive financial aid. Students are encouraged to meet with a Financial Aid representative and to complete the FAFSA and other required forms. Financial aid is available through Federal, State and private sources and includes scholarships, grants, loans and work-study. Northwestern College provides about $4 million per year in scholarships to students. Northwestern College is approved for Veteran’s and GI Bill education.
Faculty and Facilities
Northwestern College operates three modern campuses in the Chicago area. All utilize current technology and have clinical labs with equipment similar to what students will find in the work place. Faculty at Northwestern College are experienced professionals who have both the academic qualifications and the real-world experience to help students prepare for their careers.
The Bridgeview campus of Northwestern College is quite convenient for residents of the southwest suburbs of Chicago or those living near Midway Airport. The campus can be reached by public transportation via PACE or by car. There is plenty of parking near the facility which is located in a shopping center.
The Bridgeview campus offers excellent training facilities including seventeen classrooms, thirteen computer labs, a large auditorium and a massage clinic for those studying massage therapy. There are also additional resources such as a library, bookstore and student lounge. The staff and faculty of the Bridgeview campus are completely dedicated to providing an education that puts students on the road to success.

Located about 13 miles from the Chicago Loop, Bridgeview, with a population of just over 15,000 receives the designation of “village” according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Bridgeview is conveniently located quite close to Midway Airport and to downtown Chicago. The area offers easy access to major highways and has become somewhat of a crossroads for the southwestern part of the Chicagoland area.
As mentioned earlier, Bridgeview is a community that prides itself on being balanced. Part of the “balance” of the community is a pleasant mix of new and older homes. Bridgeview is the home of the Chicago Fire, a professional soccer team of Major League Soccer. A new stadium, Toyota Park, was funded by the village of Bridgeview. The Fire uses the complex for affiliated soccer activities and concerts and other entertainment are also offered.
