Going to School in Chattanooga, TN

The fourth-largest city in Tennessee, Chattanooga is located near the Georgia-Tennessee border. Situated on shores of the Chickamauga and Nickajack Lake (both of which are part of the Tennessee River), and seated in the ridge-and-valley section of the Cumberland Plateau and the Appalachian Mountains, Chattanooga is a beautiful place to live, work, and go to school.

Chattanooga, TN

While much of Chattanooga's history seems to be tied up with the railroad industry, modern-day Chattanooga is a city on the move in a different direction. Since the same rail industry that made the city famous also contributed to massive ecological problems, Chattanooga's government is actively and aggressively reshaping the city.

With it's "21st Century Waterfront Plan", the government of Chattanooga is making headway in revamping much of the historic and beautiful town. A major part of this revitalization effort includes the restoration of the historic Walnut Street Bridge, the oldest surviving bridge of its kind in the Southeastern United States.

In addition to restoration efforts, Chattanooga is also home to some of the south's top entertainment spots. These attractions include the Tennessee Aquarium, the Creative Discovery Museum (a hands-on children's museum), and the Tennessee Riverwalk, a 10 mile trail that follows the banks of the great Tennessee River.

A city on the move, you'll love living in Chattanooga while attending Miller-Motte College!
