The Institute of Business and Medical Careers (IBMC) has been serving the Colorado population since 1987, when the first college facility under the IBMC name opened its doors. When the Institute of Business and Medical Careers first opened, it was known as the Medical Careers Training Center. Just four years later, it was purchased by The Laub Company, who has been the owner ever since. Additional changes over the ensuing decade included more diploma programs and an expansion into business and administration training.
The Greeley campus opened in 2008, bringing the IBMC name to a whole new group of potential students. Additional facilities can be found in Oakridge and Collins, CO, and Cheyenne, WY. The focus of each one varies, with the Greeley campus primarily used for medical-based training.

Students learn several different massage modalities, as well as more basic anatomy and physiology training related to the medical field. All coursework is complemented by hands-on clinical work in keeping with a real-world setting, and graduates are qualified to sit for the national certification exam.
In addition to massage, courses offered at IBMC include administrative assistant, business administration, accounting, medical assisting, medical billing/coding, paralegal, and pharmacy technician. The degrees and diplomas offered for each program vary.
Together, the faculty members here hold over 150 years of experience in their fields. One-on-one interaction is a key part of training at IBMC, and class sizes are kept small for that reason. The dedicated faculty members are chosen for both their real-world experience and their commitment to education, and each student is pushed to succeed in his or her program of choice.
The IBMC Greeley campus is equipped with the latest technologies for helping students succeed in the medical and massage fields. Here you’ll find a resource center, medical labs, computer labs, traditional lecture classrooms, specialty massage therapy classrooms, and an on-site massage clinic. Student workstations with Internet access are also available to help students study on the campus.
IBMC is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), which gives it the ability to award certificates, diplomas, and Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degrees. It is also approved by the Division of Private Occupational Schools in the Department of Higher Education, State of Colorado. The massage program has the further distinction of being a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, as well as being certified by National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Almost all the students passing through IBMC’s doors accept some kind of financial assistance, which ranges from federal loans and private funding options to the school’s interest-free cash payment plan. Students interested in federal and/or state support will need to fill out and file a FAFSA form. Private loans are dependent on credit rating.
