High-Tech Institute opened its doors in Phoenix in 1982, and has grown to include a total of 25 schools and an online campus. Massage Therapy Program
Massage Therapy is becoming recognized as an important and respected health care discipline. Massage therapists are employed in sports medicine, orthopedics, chronic pain management, naturopathy and chiropractic care. They work in athletic clubs, nursing homes, salons, clinics and private practice.
Students who graduate from the High-Tech Institute - Dallas Basic Massage Therapy program receive a Diploma. It includes 13 weeks of classes and a three-week internship. The classes are modular, rather than sequential, so you can enter the program at any point and continue to take classes until you have completed all of the modules.
Students gain foundational knowledge in anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, nutrition, stress management, injury prevention and wellness. They learn techniques of Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, sports massage, deep tissue massage, chair massage, reflexology and aromatherapy.
Students also learn the skills necessary for working as a team, communicating with patients and other health care professionals, and running a business. They graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in various healthcare, athletic and spa settings or to begin a private practice.

Financial Aid
High-Tech Institute participates in all Federal and State financial aid programs. Students are encouraged to file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible after January 1 of the year they plan to enroll.
Students must be enrolled at High-Tech Institute before financial aid can be awarded. After meeting with an Admissions Advisor and completing an enrollment agreement, students receive a Financial Aid packet which must be completed prior to meeting with a Financial Aid Advisor.

The Dallas campus of High-Tech Institute is actually located in the city of Irving, best known as the home of Texas Stadium and the Dallas Cowboys. The city of nearly 200,000 is also home to many Fortune 500 companies including Exxon-Mobil, Kimberly Clark and Advance PCS. In addition, there are other major corporate headquarters located in Dallas and Ft. Worth.
Irving is in Dallas County and is part of the Dallas/Ft. Worth metro area which is the fourth largest metro area in the United States. The city of Dallas was founded in 1841 and began as just another small town in Texas. But in 1873, the city leaders arranged to have the north-south and east-west railroad lines intersect in Dallas insuring that the city would be a commercial hub. Oil was discovered outside the city in 1930 resulting in an oil boom and the integrated circuit was invented at Texas Instruments insuring a solid place for Dallas in the high tech industry.
