This school strives to provide an excellent massage therapy education so that graduating students can go on to find good jobs in various fields of practice. The institution is career-oriented and allows students to gain a well-rounded education.
Gwinnett College began offering 9 month massage therapy diplomas since June 2006 when they acquired the Rising Spirit Institute of Natural Health. The school’s main focus is to provide their students with the tools and skills that they need to become a successful massage therapist.
The courses touch on kinesiology, Swedish deep tissue massage, musculoskeletal anatomy, chair massage, and reflexology. Students also learn skills in how to be a successful practitioner. There are also classes in massage safety, client counseling, and ethics, among others.

All faculty members have the necessary education and experience that can provide a valuable education program in massage therapy. Students will get the training that they need in order to graduate successfully from their program. The school has seen rapid expansion over the last decade. The main campus was moved to Marietta, this allowed the facility offerings to increase by four-fold.
The admissions policy for this school requires students to undergo an interview so that they can obtain all of the necessary information that they need to make a well-informed decision. A student is required to pass an aptitude test and must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED equivalent. An admissions application must also be completed.

Marietta has a population of around 60,000 and is one of the largest suburbs of Atlanta. In the 1830s, the Army Corps of Engineers chose Marietta as the base of operations as they began construction on a rail line north to Chattanooga.
This attracted a lot of businesses to the city and spurred substantial growth. During the Civil War, only about 30 years later, the town was virtually destroyed by General Sherman’s troops as they embarked on the infamous “March To The Sea.”
Today Marietta enjoys prominence as the county seat and offers easy access to the sophisticated and contemporary lifestyle of Atlanta. This contrasts dramatically with many of the antebellum characteristics of modern day Marietta.
The city embraces its past and features many Civil War battle sites, A “Gone With The Wind” Museum and many other interesting historical attractions. Kennesaw Mountain presents a breathtaking view of both Marietta and Atlanta.
