Gwinnett college opened its doors in July 1976 by Ruby B. Jackson. It is currently owned by LTT Enterprises, Inc.

This school strives to provide an excellent massage therapy education so that graduating students can go on to find good jobs in various fields of practice. The institution is career-oriented and allows students to gain a well-rounded education.

About the Massage Therapy Program

Gwinnett College began offering 9 month massage therapy diplomas since June 2006 when they acquired the Rising Spirit Institute of Natural Health. The school’s main focus is to provide their students with the tools and skills that they need to become a successful massage therapist.

Certifications

NeuroMuscular Therapy – therapeutic massage aimed at treating muscle related conditions

Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage – classic Swedish technique and the foundation of all massage

Chair Massage – a fast growing massage technique where the client is fully clothed and sitting in a chair

Reflexology – a massage techique used to heal people by using various zones in the feet.

Admissions & Financial Aid

The admissions policy for this school requires students to undergo an interview so that they can obtain all of the necessary information that they need to make a well-informed decision. A student is required to pass an aptitude test and must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED equivalent. An admissions application must also be completed.

Georgia Massage SchoolsLargely considered to be a suburb of Atlanta, GA, the city of Sandy Springs has much to offer to the prospective massage therapy student. In addition to enjoying the progressive city that is Sandy Springs, residents can take advantage of the amenities that Atlanta has to offer.

Atlanta was incorporated in 1847 after it was designated as the “terminus” of a proposed rail line. The city grew rapidly once the rail lines were open and became a major supply center for the Confederacy during the Civil War. The city was burned by General Sherman as he began his infamous “March to the Sea.” Reconstruction of Atlanta commenced at the end of the war and the city once more became a commercial center. Many colleges were founded and a hospital system was established.

The city was a major center for the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 60s and was the home of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In 1996 the city hosted the Summer Olympic Games. Today, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines and CNN all call Atlanta home.

There is plenty to see and do in the Atlanta metro area. The city is home the NFL Falcons, the NBA hawks and the MLB Braves. Numerous universities are located in Atlanta including Georgia Tech, Georgia State and Emory University. Atlanta hosts a variety of cultural activities including a lively music and theater scene and many museums and historical sites.
