About the Massage Therapy Program
Massage is an ancient art of healing that is finally becoming a recognized form of pain management in the United States. Massage can benefit a wide variety of people, from the elderly, to the injured, to athletes, to infants and pregnant women. Qualified massage therapists can work in diverse settings, such as hospitals, pain management clinics, spas, resorts, salons, sports and fitness centers, and private practices.
The options are wide open, and the demand for massage therapists is projected to grow for the next several years. From relieving pain to relieving stress, massage has many benefits, and a career as a massage therapist is rewarding and challenging.
Remington College offers a diploma program in Massage Therapy. Not only does the college strive to teach students specific massage techniques – such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports, reflexology, neuromuscular, and acupressure massage – they instill a sense of professionalism and ethics that is key in the field of massage therapy.
Once students complete the first seven units of study, they participate in an on-campus internship at the Massage Therapy Clinic, where they are given an opportunity to practice what they have learned while helping community members.

Here they can demonstrate their learning and progress while community members enjoy massages. The Remington campus is very involved with the surrounding community, participating in and hosting several charitable events throughout the year.

Financial Aid
Remington College participates in federal and state financial aid programs. Hawaii became the fiftieth state in country in 1959. Honolulu is the capital and largest city in the Hawaiian Islands. It is estimated that the earliest settlers came to the region in 500 to 750. Settlers from Tahiti arrived in 1000. Honolulu grew as more and more ships discovered the excellent sheltered port it provided.
Much of Honolulu’s history is tumultuous. From the overthrow of tribal leaders to the struggle in becoming a US state, Honolulu’s citizens have persevered in the face of struggle. Pearl Harbor, for instance, affected military bases across Oahu.
