Montana Massage Therapist Licensing and Certification Requirements
Start Your Massage Therapy Career in Montana!
At this time the state of Montana does not have licensing requirements. However, a bill has been passed to regulate the licensing of massage therapists that will go into effect on July 1, 2010.
At that time and until July 1, 2012, the state will have a grandfather exception for applicants, where they will have to show that they have practiced at least 100 hours of massage therapy and pay the application fee.
After July 1, 2012, applicants will need to have 500 hours of education and take an exam approved by the board. The license renewal period will be every 2 years with a 12 hour CE requirement.
