About the Massage Therapy Program
Hesser College offers a diploma program in Massage Therapy. The demand of qualified massage therapists is expected to grow sharply in upcoming years as more and more people recognize the healing benefits. Hesser’s Massage Therapy program is a comprehensive look at the massage industry, which includes technique, body mechanics, and more.
As part of the program students will learn skills such as proper body mechanics and draping, basic organ structure and function, basic health and hygiene procedures, nutrition, and specific massage techniques, including sports massage, deep tissue, neurovascular, and hydromassage.
In addition students will receive instruction in the history of massage therapy, charting client intake and progress, business procedures, and job search preparation (resume writing, interviewing skills, conducting a job search). Students not only learn about massage, but also how to run their own business and find that perfect job. The education is all-encompassing, which makes Hesser graduates more attractive to employers.
