Massage has been used for centuries to relieve pain, help prevent injury, relieve stress, and soothe the spirit. It gained popularity in the United States in the spa and salon industry first. Many people swore by it as relaxation and restoration tool.
Now, we are seeing the benefits of massage on health and wellness. It is used to treat chronic pain due to injury, illness, or stress, prevent new injuries, keep muscles supple, and much more. You can find massage therapists in a wide variety of settings, such as hospitals, physical therapy clinics, pain management clinics, private practices, salons, spas, and resorts.
Salter College offers a certificate program in Massage Therapy. Students are trained in massage techniques, soft tissue manipulation, and advanced therapeutic techniques. Massage Therapy students can learn through a combination of classroom coursework and hands-on practice.
In addition to massage techniques, Salter students receive extensive instruction in business principles of the Massage Therapy field, communication, and human relations. Each of these areas plays an important role in the career of a Massage Therapist.
Salter College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).
The faculty at Salter College is carefully selected based on experience and superior teaching ability. They strive to bring professional experience and insight into the classroom, giving students a glimpse of their futures.
