About Apollo College
Apollo College was founded in Tempe, AZ in 1979. The school originally featured courses for medical secretaries and medical and dental assistants. Since that time the programs offered at Apollo have dramatically expanded.
The school now offers a variety of medical career programs including massage therapy, pharmacy technician, respiratory therapist and veterinary assistant. Apollo College now has 9 locations in the western United States with over 4,000 students and 50,000 graduates.
About the Massage Therapy Program
The massage therapy program at Apollo College offers a diploma after the completion of 30 credit hours of course work. Students will be introduced to the study of human anatomy and physiology gaining a thorough knowledge of the implications of muscular and skeletal manipulations. Course work also includes lessons in the business of massage and an introduction to professional ethics and communication.
The massage therapy program at Apollo focuses primarily on the study of Swedish massage techniques. Other therapeutic techniques will also be examined. Apollo College emphasizes specific competencies that have been identified as critical for success as a massage therapist.
A successful therapist will be passionate about massage and possess excellent communications skills. They will be able to structure each massage session to maximize the benefit for each individual client. Fitness Technician
Available as a diploma program, the Fitness Technician course of study at Apollo College is designed to equip graduates with the skills needed in order to pursue employment as a personal trainer in a rehab facility, health club, or fitness studio. In addition to learning how to provide personal training, this program will teach students how to develop plans and assess the fitness needs of clients.
Coursework centers around the functions and processes of the human body, and the aspects of creativity and flexibility are emphasized throughout the program, in addition to determination.
