About the Massage Program

Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College is the oldest nationally accredited massage school in Arizona. The school focuses on providing education and training for individuals who aspire to be the best in their field. Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College is unique in that it offers a personal fitness certification within the massage training curriculum.

Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College has three campuses in Arizona and currently enrolls about 200 students. The campuses, in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Flagstaff, collectively represent one of the top massage institutions in the Southwest. Graduates of this school consistently establish successful careers in the fields of health care, fitness and spa treatment.
Massage Programs

Students at Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College can select from a variety of programs designed to present options consistent with students’ interests, budgets and schedules. They include:

Massage Therapy Programs

Therapeutic Massage (Scottsdale and Phoenix)

This program is structured for a student who is interested in acquiring an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology. The program contains 300 classroom hours and lasts 32 weeks during day classes and 40 weeks in evening classes.

Therapeutic Massage with Spa Specialty (Scottsdale and Phoenix)

In addition to the science heavy curriculum of therapeutic massage, this program contains advanced training in the most popular spa treatments offered in today’s five-star resorts and spas. The program lasts 47 weeks.

Master Massage Practitioner (Scottsdale only)

This is considered PSMT’s most elite program. The Master Massage Practitioner program is designed to provide advanced training in a broad variety of massage modalities with specialized instruction in sports and spa therapies. These are the two fastest growing markets for massage therapy and specialists in these areas are strongly recruited.

Personal Fitness Training (Scottsdale only)

Coursework for this program is developed in conjunction with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. After completing the course students will be eligible to take the NASM certified personal trainer national certification exam. The program is offered as a one day a week or two day a week course.

Therapeutic Massage with Sports Fitness Specialty (Scottsdale only)

This program combines the sciences of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, which are required for national certification as a massage therapist. In addition, students will be qualified to receive certification in Personal Fitness Training. The program length is 47 weeks.

Financial Aid

Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College is approved by the U.S. Department of Education. This approval qualifies students to participate in federally insured financial assistance programs. Federal financial aid is available in the form of Federal Pell Grants, FELP and Federal PLUS Program for qualified students. PTMC is also approved by the Veterans Administration to provide training to veterans and their dependents who are eligible for Veterans Administration Educational benefits.
