Roseville is a city of nearly 34,000 and is one of only two cities to be adjacent to both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Roseville is also the location of the John Rose Oval which is the largest artificial outdoor sheet of ice in the world. An 800 ton refrigeration system makes it possible to use the Oval ice from early November to early March. The oval is actually a 400 meter speed skating track surrounding four hockey rinks. It hosts speed skating, ice hockey and recreational skating.
