Metro Business College is a Jefferson-based vocational training center with a total of four campuses spread throughout Missouri. The Massage Therapy program offered through Metro Business College is a certification course lasting a total of 61 credit hours in all. Most students can complete the course in three quarters, or about a year in all. Students are trained to work as professional massage therapists in keeping with Missouri State regulations, and are eligible upon successful graduation to sit for the national certification exam.
Courses include anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, massage fundamentals, massage modalities (including Swedish massage), pre-natal massage, and general business practices. The combination of all these is in keeping with national and professional standards.
Instructors are qualified and dedicated professionals in the field of massage. Many of them have run their own private massage clinics or worked in a larger spa setting. Whatever their background, they are ready and willing to impart their wisdom onto their students, which they do in both a lecture-based and one-on-one learning format.
