Wellspring School of Allied Health is a healthcare vocational center offering training in medical assisting, personal training, and massage therapy. Wellspring School of Allied Health
9140 Ward Pkwy # 100Within the Massage Therapy program, students learn in both a lecture and laboratory setting. Students can choose between full-time or part-time programs, both of which can be completed within a year. It lasts 750 clock hours in length (37 credits), and covers such courses as basic anatomy, Swedish massage, neuromuscular techniques, wellness and nutrition, Eastern techniques, kinetic massage, sports massage, ethics, and client communications.
A student clinic rounds out the educational experience, and students practice their skills in a real-world setting and on real clients. Graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification exam in keeping with Missouri and Kansas state standards in massage professionalism.
All classes are taught by practitioner instructors who combine real working knowledge with a commitment to education. The learning format varies from lectures and group activities to hands-on practice time, all of which is facilitated by the instructor.
In addition to the Kansas City location, there is a secondary campus in Lawrence, KS. The facilities are up-to-date and modern, offering everything from spacious classrooms and labs to shared study spaces and administrative offices. On-site housing is not offered at this time, but there are several apartment communities located nearby for students who are relocating to the Kansas City area in order to go to massage school.
Wellspring School of Allied Health is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and is approved by the Missouri Department of Higher Education. The massage program has the further distinction of being a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). The school is also approved by The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider.
