Columbus Massage School

This school was founded in 1994 and has been providing students with the right education that is necessary to work as a licensed massage therapist. The Institute prides itself on their ability to prepare students with their unique student to teach ratio of 1:14. This allows graduates to comfortably take and pass the to take the Ohio State Medical Board Licensed Massage Therapy Exam.

About the Massage Therapy Program

The Institute offers both the Western style of Massage Therapy and the Chinese style of Massage Therapy. Students can achieve Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) degree for the Western style in 750 clock hours, which will take approximately 9 months to complete. The Chinese style program can be complete within 1052 hours of curriculum and it will also provide you with a degree to work as an LMT. Some of the subject areas that will be studied include Bio-Medical Science, clinical training, and massage therapy courses.

Admissions and Financial Aid

In order to enroll for the Massage Therapy Program, the Institute requires that an applicant submit a completed application and the fee for processing. In addition, prospective students are required to have their official high school transcript or GED equivalent. Students must have had an overall GPA of 2.0 or above 50 on the GED in order to enroll. To complete the application process, students need to have a completed physical health exam form, two personal recommendations and complete a personal interview, as well as tour the campus. The Preliminary Education Number from the State Medical Board of Ohio is also required to enroll at this Institute.

The Institute’s Financial Aid office will assist any student with securing the financial assistance they require in order to enroll in the massage therapy program. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Form is available to all students which will determine what amounts of financial aid are available to the student. The Institute also offers a payment plan, as well as scholarships to help students finance their education.

The American Institute of Alternative Medicine is accredited by the Accrediting Counsel of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) and the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACOAM).
