Anthem Institute was founded when a well known insurance company had difficulty finding skilled workers to staff its computer operations center. To resolve this issue the company set up its own training program. The graduates of this program were so effective that soon other major companies began requesting trained computer professionals. As a result the program was established as an independent institution and Anthem Institute was born.
Now, Anthem Institute provides quality education at the postsecondary level to those seeking careers in Technology and Allied Health Care. Beyond simply providing information to students Anthem Institute strives to help each student reach his or her full potential. Students can complete a Diploma program in just over a year, or less. You will receive the training you need to find the job you want.
By nature, massage therapists tend to be people persons. The massage therapy program at Anthem Institute will provide caring individuals who have a desire to succeed as massage therapists the knowledge, training and experience they will need.
Students of the massage therapy program will receive instruction in a variety of massage techniques including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, reflexology and aromatherapy. A thorough classroom review of the key aspects of anatomy, physiology and pathology as well as body mechanics is also presented.
The massage therapy also introduces students to other factors that complement massage in a holistic approach to wellness including nutrition and stress management. Students will also engage in hands-on experience in a supervised clinical setting. They will also participate in a comprehensive review of the factors necessary to start a massage therapy business.
Upon completion of the program, students will receive a diploma and will have all of the skills necessary to embark on a career as a massage therapist.

After enrolling, students will be provided a Financial Aid packet which contains the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Springfield Campus of Anthem Institute was established in 1988 and is conveniently located in a vibrant and busy area of Delaware County. The campus is located in the Marple Crossroads Shopping Center, a major shopping destination on Route 1. There is plenty of parking and easy access by public transportation. The staff at the Springfield campus is dedicated to offering personal attention and hands-on experience to students to insure a successful transition from the classroom to a career.
Located about 10 miles west of Philadelphia, Springfield is a bustling residential community of about 25,000. The area was first settled by Quakers who arrived with William Penn and was called “Amosland.” The area was mainly farmland with a few mills built on the numerous creeks and waterways. In 1701 construction began on the Baltimore Pike and by the beginning of the 20th century this road had become the busiest commercial area outside of Philadelphia.
Today Springfield Township enjoys a reputation as an outstanding community with an excellent public school system and many municipal amenities. The township has made a commitment to be good stewards of the land and has set aside 211 acres as public park and recreation areas. There is also a country club owned and managed by the township with a golf course and swim club available to township residents.
Springfield has many well known shopping centers and many outstanding dining establishments. While there is plenty to do in Springfield, those who desire a big city atmosphere are only a very short drive form downtown Philadelphia.
