The National Holistic Institute (NHI) is one of the largest and most respected massage therapy schools in the country.
Founded in 1979, NHI is dedicated to training and placing professional massage therapists that have the capability of assessing and successfully treating clients. NHI has pioneered a comprehensive 720-hour training program and is nationally accredited.
Massage Therapy Program
The massage therapy program at National Holistic Institute is considered on of the best in the nation. Students are taught a wide variety of massage techniques. They will be instructed in the
methods of evaluating the needs of each individual and developing a program of customized massage to meet those needs.
Students will learn Swedish massage, sports massage and acupressure/shiatsu massage, deep tissue massage, seated massage and energizing massage to name a few. They will also learn how to perform assessments and customize a massage session, professional draping procedures and body mechanics.
An effective massage therapist will be thoroughly familiar with the human body. Courses include instruction about the structure and function of the musculo-skeletal system, including the origin, insertion, and action of muscles; range of motion; postural analysis; and kinesiology.
