The National Massage Therapy Institute (NMTI) has one focus and one focus only: Massage. The staff and instructors of the NMTI are committed to providing you the training you will need to become a massage therapist and the guidance you will need to succeed as one.

The school has a variety of flexible programs in an environment that is professional yet quite comfortable for learning. NMTI offers programs designed to allow those that complete their training to obtain full or part-time opportunities as massage therapists. Individuals with other skills, like nurses or personal trainers, take advantage of our training programs in order to add therapeutic massage to their skill set.

Delaware massage schoolsThe massage therapy program at NMTI provides the foundation for those with a goal of having a career in therapeutic massage or bodywork. Upon completion of the massage program, students will receive a diploma and be qualified to take the National Certification Exam in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. This certification is required by most states in order to be issued a license to practice massage therapy.

Students at NMTI will study and practice Swedish massage, Sports massage, Reflexology and Shiatsu. Additional studies in ethics and business practice help to provide graduates with therapeutic skills as well as sound business training. The program is seven months to completion though an optional twelve-month program is available. Day and evening classes are available and weekend classes are offered at some NMTI locations.

During the 600 hours of instruction students will be trained in anatomy and physiology, muscular pathology, kinesiology, prenatal massage, chair massage and other massage modalities. Students that complete the program will be fully prepared to provide expert treatment and to manage their business activities.
