About the Massage Therapy Course

Massage therapy is a growing field in the United States as more and more people recognize the benefits of massage to relieve pain, reduce stress and tension, and prevent injury. Students may be prepared to work in a variety of settings from hospitals and physical therapy centers to spas and salons.

This full-time, intensive program is designed to give students the hands-on training, practical experience and personal development it takes to pursue a successful, rewarding career in Massage Therapy.

Students who graduate this program may feel comfortable performing the following massage modalities and techniques:
•    Connective Tissue Massage
•    Reflexology
•    Neuromuscular Therapy
•    Shiatsu/ Asian Studies
•    Polarity Therapy
•    Injury Rehab/Sports Massage
•    Integrative Massage

Massage Teacher Training Course

The objective of this self-directed course is to expose therapists, through observation and experience as classroom assistants, to the theories, techniques, and experiences necessary to become instructors of massage. An exploration of psychological factors and group dynamics are offered as well as a variety of methods to organize classes and workshops. The certificate requirements are as follows:
•    A minimum of 250 hours of class time observation
•    A minimum of 20 hours of staff and teacher meetings
•    Must observe Swedish Massage, Connective Tissue, Kinesiology or Anatomy & Physiology, and two other chosen modalities
•    Write one daily lesson plan for each of the above named modalities
•    Student will teach a segment of at least 4 classes
•    Organize and facilitate 3 Q&A classes for after school tutorial
•    Organization of one Community Outreach program to be offered to students
•    Attend at least 2 In Service Teacher meetings, and attend Communication Teachers Conference calls.
•    Proof of existing certification
•    Paid in full
The Tucson campus also offers Continuing Education courses for Message Therapy student looking to advance their preexisting skills or gain more experience to become well-rounded professionals.

The Tucson Arts District facility is situated between the 4th Avenue shops and Downtown, in what is known as the Historic Warehouse Arts District. The campus is in walking distance of the University of Arizona (U of A), coffee houses, breweries, gourmet restaurants, book stores, and specialty boutiques. Tucson, Arizona sits in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, which is filled with abundant wildlife and  flora. Within a short drive one can hike elevations above 10,000ft, and boulder the wild Tucson, Santa Rita, or Santa Catalina Mountains. Within half an hour, the historical yet still active San Xavier Mission offers visitors and residents an opportunity to mingle with traditional native tribes.
