Current Massage Therapy Career Outlook

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Employment of massage therapists is projected to grow 26 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations. Continued growth in the demand for massage services will lead to new openings for massage therapists.”

Part of this grow comes from the increasing number of spas and massage clinics in recent years to keep up with the growing demand for massage services. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects massage therapist employment growth of 26 percent between 2016 and 2026, adding 42,100 more professionals to this field.

Job Prospects

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in those states that regulate massage therapy, there should be opportunities available to those students who take and complete recognized programs and pass the state exams.
